Indian Paragliding Trailblazer Tsewang Droma to Soar at Thailand Paragliding Accuracy ASEAN Friendships Open

Northeast Desk, 3rd February: Tsewang Droma, the pioneering female paragliding pilot from India, hailing from Bomdila in Arunachal Pradesh, is gearing up to represent the country at the 8th Thailand Paragliding Accuracy ASEAN Friendships Open. The event is scheduled to take place in Thailand from February 8 to 12.

Droma, the first Indian paragliding pilot with an APPI rated license and the third to receive an FAI license from the Aero Club of India, hails from Dirang in West Kameng District. She has been a trailblazer in the field and continues to break barriers. Her participation in international competitions, including the upcoming event in Thailand, marks a significant milestone in her illustrious paragliding career.

Expressing her excitement, Droma pledged to give her best and bring glory to the country. In 2022, she secured the first runner-up position in the Indian women’s category at the Meghalaya Open Paragliding Championship and the Asian League Qualifications. With a rich background, having completed various paragliding courses and national competitions, Droma is set to make India proud on the global paragliding stage.

Joining her in receiving FAI paragliding pilot licenses are Miss Alisha C Khonjuju and Shri Kulu Liyak from East Kameng. The trio’s achievements reflect the growing prominence of Indian paragliders in the international arena.
