Indian Railways Steps Up Linen Hygiene with New Laundry Centers

Guwahati: The Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has inaugurated a cutting-edge laundry care center in Guwahati, capable of processing a staggering 32,000 bedrolls daily. This state-of-the-art facility, equipped with a tunnel-based system, ensures that passengers receive pristine and hygienic linen.

“The new laundry center is a significant step towards enhancing passenger comfort and hygiene,” said Kapinjal Kishore Sharma, CPRO of NFR. “It can handle large volumes of linen efficiently, optimizing resource usage and ensuring a swift turnaround.”

The NFR’s initiative aligns with the broader Indian Railways’ commitment to providing top-notch services. The North Western Railway (NWR) has also been making strides in this regard. NWR’s automatic washing plant in Jaipur ensures that passengers receive clean and well-maintained linen.
