Indian Railways To Launch Bharat Gaurav Train To NE On March 21
Guwahati: The Bharat Gaurav Deluxe Tourist Train which is scheduled to leave the New Delhi Safdarjung Railway Station on March 21 has been introduced by the Indian Railways Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC).
The train will travel for 15 days via Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Tripura, and Meghalaya, according to an official announcement from the Ministry of Railways.
“North East Discovery: Beyond Guwahati” serves as the theme for the North East circuit.
The train excursion will spend 15 days travelling through Assam’s Guwahati, Tripura’s Unakoti, Agartala, and Udaipur, Nagaland’s Dimapur, and Meghalaya’s Shillong and Cherapunji.
The Bharat Gaurav scheme was introduced by the Indian Railways in 2021 to boost domestic tourism and draw visitors from around the globe.
The government of India’s programmes “Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat” and “Dekho Apna Desh” to promote domestic travel are in line with the introduction of the Bharat Gaurav Tourist Train.
From Delhi, Ghaziabad, Aligarh, Tundla, Itawah, Kanpur, Lucknow, and Varanasi, passengers may board and disembark.
The 156 tourists who can fit in the Deluxe AC trains’ 156 air-conditioned AC 1 and AC 2 decks.
This train stops in Guwahati for the first of its 14 nights and 15 days’ worth of travels, where visitors can explore Kamakhya Temple, Umananda Temple, and take a Brahmaputra sunset cruise.
The next stop on this train’s overnight trip will be Naharlagun Railway Station, which is located 30 kilometres from Itanagar, the capital of Arunachal Pradesh. The following city is Sivasagar, which was the former seat of the Ahom Kingdom and is located in Eastern Assam.
The modern Deluxe AC Tourist Train has a host of various features including two fine dining restaurants, a contemporary kitchen, shower cubicles in coaches, sensor-based washroom functions, a foot massager and a mini library, the official statement said.
There are two different kinds of accommodations available on the fully air-conditioned train: AC I and AC II. Enhanced security features on the railway include CCTV cameras, electronic safes, and security officers assigned specifically to each coach.
The starting fee for a ticket is Rs 1,06,990 for an AC 2 Tier, Rs 1,31,990 for an AC 1 Cabin, and Rs 1,49,290 for an AC 1 Coupe. The price of the pass includes, among other expenses, railway travel, hotel stays, all vegetarian meals, transportation expenses, local sightseeing fees, and travel insurance.
