National Desk, 7th January: An Indian student, identified as Ram Raut from Jharkhand’s West Singhbhum district, was discovered dead in Italy on January 2, under unknown circumstances. Raut, pursuing an MBA in Italy, lived in rented accommodation. The incident came to light when his parents, unable to reach him on New Year’s, contacted the accommodation owner, who informed them about the tragic discovery in another house’s washroom.
After learning of their son’s death, Raut’s family sought assistance from senior government officials and public representatives of Jharkhand to repatriate his body to India.
West Singhbhum’s Deputy Commissioner, Ananya Mittal, confirmed the incident and informed the Home Department and the Migration cell of Jharkhand for necessary action. Mittal stated that he is closely monitoring the case’s developments and maintaining communication with the bereaved family. The local authorities are working to unravel the circumstances surrounding Ram Raut’s untimely demise in Italy.
