Guwahati: Indian women’s fours team overcame Norfolk Island and advanced to the semi-finals of the lawn bowls competition on Sunday at the Commonwealth Games 2022 in Birmingham.
The Indian quartet got off to a fast start and led 11-0 after three ends. However, India triumphed 17-9 in the quarterfinal round.
The Indian quarter includes Assam’s Nayanmoni Saikia, Lovely Choubey, Pinki and Rupa Rani Tirkey.
The four will compete against New Zealand in the semifinal game on Monday.
Later on in the day, the men’s team of Sunil Bahadur and Dinesh Kumar fell to Northern Ireland 8-26.
