Indigenous Road Construction Technology Utilized at India-China Border

Northeast Desk, 5th January: The Border Roads Organisation (BRO) has successfully employed the indigenous road construction technology ‘Rejupave’ to build high-altitude bituminous road sections at the Sela tunnel and LGG-Damteng-Yangste (LDY) road near the India-China border in Arunachal Pradesh.

Developed by CSIR-Central Road Research Institute, this technology allows for the construction of bituminous roads at low and sub-zero temperatures, addressing the challenges faced during winter months.

The innovation is expected to enhance the working window for road construction in challenging conditions and contribute to building a robust road network at higher altitudes.
