Indore becomes India’s first Water Plus city
Guwahati: The cleanest city in India, Indore has been declared as the first “Water Plus” city in the country under the Swachh Survekshan 2021.
Swachh Survekshan is an annual survey of cleanliness, hygiene, and sanitation, Indore city has set an example for the other cities.
Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan congratulated the citizens of Indore as it became the first SBM ( Swachh Bharat Mission) Water Plus city.
Seven Sewerage treatment plants were constructed in the city and about 110 million liters per day treated water from them being used. According to the guidelines of Water plus Protocol, 147 special types of urinals were constructed in the city. Besides, the work of cleaning ponds, wells, and all other water bodies has also been done.
