Indore Couple Vanishes in Meghalaya Hills, Police Launch Search
Shillong: An Indore couple on a vacation in Meghalaya’s picturesque East Khasi Hills district has mysteriously gone missing, prompting a frantic search operation and raising anxieties among their kin back home.
Their disappearance came to light after their mobile phones remained unreachable through Sunday night, sparking immediate concern.
Raja Raghuvanshi, 29, and his wife Sonam, were last sighted exploring the popular tourist hub of Sohra, widely known as Cherrapunji, on Sunday. The duo had reportedly rented a two-wheeler to soak in the scenic beauty of the region.
“Their brother Govind reported the matter to us, stating that the couple had gone missing and their mobile phones were switched off since Sunday night,” a senior police officer involved in the investigation confirmed.
Police teams have since fanned out across the area, meticulously checking local hotels, homestays, and vehicle rental services for any potential clues. Authorities are also actively appealing to local residents for any information or sightings that could lead to tracing the missing couple. The clock is ticking as efforts intensify to ensure their safe return.
