Guwahati, 10th October: In a significant development, the Guwahati Police has submitted a comprehensive 1,200-page charge sheet in the case related to the suicide of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Kisan Morcha Secretary Indrani Tahbildar. The charge sheet mentions the names of BJP leaders Anurag Chaliha and Diban Deka as part of the investigation.
The police have been actively probing this case, which has gained widespread attention. However, they have not yet been able to submit the charge sheet in the cash-for-job scam that emerged in connection with Indrani Tahbildar’s death. This delay is due to the ongoing efforts to locate and apprehend Abhimanyu Das, one of the main accused in the scam, who remains at large.
Abhimanyu Das is reported to have fled to Thailand from Guwahati, carrying a sum of Rs. 30-35,000 in cash after the scandal came to light. In response, the police have frozen all of his bank accounts as they continue their efforts to track him down.
