Injured Hoolock Gibbon Rescued In Assam’s Kamrup
Guwahati: An injured Hoolock Gibbon was rescued from the Kothalguri area in Kamrup district of Assam.
According to reports, the gibbon suffered injuries to one of his limbs after it was electrocuted on coming in contact with a high voltage electric line.
It was rescued by the forest officials of Kamrup West Division.
It needs to noted that it was sent to the Assam State Zoo in Guwahati for medical attention.
Hoolock gibbons are three primate species belonging to the genus Hoolock in the Hylobatidae family of gibbons that are native to eastern Bangladesh, northeast India, Myanmar, and southwest China.
It can be found south of the Brahmaputra River and the North Bank areas, as well as east of the Dibang River. Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, and Tripura are among the states where it can be found.
