Installation of 58 Lakhs Smart Meters by APDCL Approved By Assam Cabinet
Guwahati: The installation of 58 lakh smart meters by Assam Power Distribution Company Limited (APDCL) has been approved by the state’s cabinet on Wednesday.
A few other significant decisions were made by the Assam Cabinet, including the implementation of a new system for the promotion of ACS-APS, the training of battalions, and the creation of committees to plan the celebration of Lachit Divas.
According to the cabinet meeting, new plans will be prepared for the state’s battalion training programme, for which 34 retired army officers will be hired.
The recruited officers will be of the rank of Major or Colonel, Lieutenant Colonel.
It also decided to implement IAS-promotional IPS’s mechanism for ACS-APS.
A 35-member committee has been formed for the 400th anniversary celebration of Lachit Borphukan, a famous warrior of the Ahom dynasty in Delhi.
The APEX committee and its subcommittees were constituted in addition to the 35-member committee.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah will attend a two-day programme commemorating Lachit Divas on November 23 and 24, respectively.
