
Intelligence Agencies Uncover Local Terror Support Network in Jammu and Kashmir
National: In the wake of heightened vigilance following the recent terror attack in Pahalgam, intelligence agencies have identified 14 local individuals actively aiding terrorist operations within the Union Territory.
Sources reveal that these operatives, ranging in age from 20 to 40, are allegedly providing essential logistical and on-the-ground assistance to foreign terrorists who have infiltrated from Pakistan. These individuals are reportedly connected to three prominent Pakistan-backed terror organizations: Hizbul Mujahideen, Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), and Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM).
According to sources, the breakdown of affiliations among the 14 identified individuals includes three linked to Hizbul Mujahideen, eight associated with Lashkar-e-Taiba, and three with Jaish-e-Mohammed.
The identified operatives include Adil Rehman Dentoo (21), Asif Ahmed Sheikh (28), Ahsan Ahmed Sheikh (23), Haris Nazir (20), Aamir Nazir Wani (20), Yawar Ahmed Bhat, Asif Ahmed Khanday (24), Naseer Ahmed Wani (21), Shahid Ahmed Kutay (27), Aamir Ahmed Dar, Adnan Safi Dar, Zubair Ahmed Wani (39), Haroon Rashid Ganai (32), and Zakir Ahmed Ganie (29).
Security forces have been placed on high alert, and a surge in counter-terrorism operations is anticipated following the exposure of this significant network operating within Jammu and Kashmir. Authorities emphasize that disrupting local support networks is a crucial element in the overarching strategy to counter cross-border terrorism.
