Intense Campaigning Concludes for Tripura East Lok Sabha Constituency

Northeast Desk, 24th April: The high-energy campaign for the Tripura East Lok Sabha constituency concluded on Wednesday, with nine candidates, including BJP’s Kriti Devi Debbarman and CPI(M)’s Rajendra Reang, competing in the upcoming elections on April 26.

Both the BJP-Tipra Motha-IPFT combine and the CPI(M)-led INDIA bloc left no stone unturned in their campaign efforts, organizing election rallies, roadshows, and door-to-door canvassing.

Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha spearheaded the BJP-led alliance’s campaign in the Tripura East Lok Sabha constituency. Meanwhile, Leader of Opposition Jitendra Chaudhury and former Chief Minister Manik Sarkar actively campaigned for the INDIA bloc candidate.

Chief Minister Saha addressed a massive rally in Khowai district’s Asharambari, urging the electorate to support BJP’s candidate Kriti Devi Debbarman to bolster Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership.

The BJP has nominated Kriti Devi Debbarman, the sister of Tipra Motha chief Pradyot Kishore Manikya Debbarma, as its candidate, while the INDIA bloc is represented by Rajendra Reang, a former CPI(M) MLA.

Although nine candidates are contesting, the primary contest is expected to unfold between Debbarman and Reang.

A total of 14.21 lakh voters, comprising 7.28 lakh male and 6.93 lakh female voters, are eligible to cast their votes in the election scheduled for April 26.
