International Kidnapping Racket Busted in Kolkata, 3 arrested
Guwahati: The West Bengal Police on Sunday in Kolkata dismantled a global kidnapping ring close to the Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International (NSCBI) Airport and arrested three people in connection with this.
The arrestees has been identified as Suresh Sinha, Rakesh Prasad Sinha, and Dhiraj Das.
Twenty young people were rescued from the traffickers by the police and members of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) in a joint operation.
According to reports, Rahul Kumar, a resident of Haryana has been missing since August 28 after travelling to Kolkata. Naresh Kumar, a Haryana native reported the missing person to the NSCBI Airport police station on September 16. Kumar told the police that a phoney international employment agency tricked his son into accepting a lucrative job offer in the US.
Rahul’s father stated that after being requested to travel to Kolkata to finish the necessary paperwork on this point, he was abducted.
According to authorities with the Bidhannagar City Police, the kidnappers then demanded Naresh Kumar pay a ransom of Rs 49 lakhs.
Following investigations, the Bidhannagar City Police reported that 20 teenagers, including Rahul Kumar, and three organisers of the kidnapping ring were trying to flee the country through NSCBI Airport.
