National Desk, 29th December: Arnold Dix, an acclaimed tunneling expert from Australia, emerged as a pivotal figure in the triumphant rescue operation in Uttarkashi. His technical expertise played a crucial role in ensuring the safe extraction of all 41 workers who were trapped inside the Silkyara tunnel.
Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese expressed his admiration for the collaborative efforts of Indian authorities and Arnold Dix, commending their success in the challenging rescue mission. The workers, who endured over 400 hours of confinement, faced numerous obstacles before being safely rescued on Tuesday night.
In response to the congratulatory message from the Australian PM, Arnold Dix humbly acknowledged the achievement, stating, “Thanks, Mr. Prime Minister… It’s been my privilege and pleasure to show that we are not just fantastic in cricket, but we do other things as well, including tunnel rescue. 41 people are all out, all safe. Everything is perfect.”
