Guwahati, 19th May: The city is buzzing with excitement as Rajasthan Royals (RR) prepare to face off against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the 17th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 at the Barshapara Stadium on May 19. The match, set to commence at 7:30 pm, has already gripped cricket fans with feverish anticipation, particularly with reports of Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan’s possible attendance adding to the frenzy.
Rajiv Khanna, the head of decorations for Rajasthan Royals, has reassured fans that the match will proceed even if it rains. He praised the pitch quality, noting its superior water absorption capability compared to other pitches. “The pitch can handle water better than most, so we are confident the game will go on as planned,” Khanna stated.
Adding to the evening’s allure, Khanna hinted at a special laser show and a drone show organized by the Assam Cricket Association (ACA), promising an enthralling experience for the spectators.
In preparation for the match and to ensure smooth traffic flow and public safety, the Traffic Police have issued specific guidelines. Key measures include a comprehensive ban on the movement of heavy commercial vehicles and other commercial vehicles on several major roads and highways in the area from 3 pm on May 19 to 12 pm the following day.
