IPS Anand Mishra Takes Charges as New SP of Lakhimpur
Guwahati, 20 May: Assam government has selected IPS officer Anand Mishra as the new SP of North Lakhimpur in the most recent development which comes hours after it was revealed that the Superintendent of Police (SP) of North Lakhimpur and Nagaon had been transferred.
Meanwhile, Nagaon’s new SP is Navneet Mahanta. On the other side, Leena Doley has been chosen to serve as Hailakandi’s SP.
Nagoan SI Junmoni Rabha’s strange death occurred days before to the police reorganisation.
In the most recent development, Assam Police has also summoned Lakhimpur Additional Superintendent of Police Runa Neog and directed her to appear before the investigative team at the police headquarters.
According to reports, an alleged informantion of the dead SI Junmoni Rabha said that SP Runa Neog had threatened Hasina Begum over the phone for her work in exposing the fake gold traders of Bangalmora.
Leena Doley and Bedanta Madhab Rajkhowa, the SPs for Nagaon and Lakhimpur have been transferred in the midst of the continuing investigation into the death of Junmoni Rabha.
Assam’s DGP GP Singh on May 20 announced at a press conference that the Central Bureau of Investigation had been assigned to investigate the death case of Junmoni Rabha.
