IRBN constable arrested with Gecko and Pangolin crust
Guwahati: An Indian Reserve Battalion constable along with another person was allegedly arrested by a team of Assam Police for allegedly being involved in a wildlife trafficking racket in the region on Monday in Diphu.
As per sources, the persons arrested have been identified as constable Khot Rikh and Ilung Ihu. Both of them are said to be residents of Nagaland.
Following their arrested, the Wildlife Crime Control Bureau of Assam, Forest Department, and Assam police succeeded in recovering ten Geckos and almost twelve kilograms of pangolin crust.
It was alleged that the duo was trying to transport the wild creatures from Nagaland through Bokajan. It was also alleged that both of them have been running the illegal trade for a very long time.
