Israel-Palestine Conflict: India Sends Humanitarian Aid to Gaza

National Desk, 22nd October: In a gesture of solidarity and support, India has dispatched humanitarian aid to the troubled Palestinian territory in the Gaza Strip as the conflict between Hamas and Israel continues. The aid package comprises nearly 6.5 tonnes of medical supplies and 32 tonnes of disaster relief materials, all destined for Palestine and scheduled to arrive via Egypt.

External Affairs Ministry spokesperson, Arindam Bagchi, took to X (formerly Twitter) to announce the mission, stating, “An IAF C-17 flight loaded with nearly 6.5 tonnes of medical aid and 32 tonnes of disaster relief materials for the people of Palestine is en route to El-Arish airport in Egypt.”

This vital assistance is slated to reach Palestine through the Rafah border crossing, located between Egypt and Gaza.

Mr. Bagchi emphasized that the humanitarian aid includes “essential life-saving medicines, surgical equipment, tents, sleeping bags, tarpaulins, sanitary utilities, water purification tablets, and various other essential supplies” to alleviate the ongoing crisis in the region.
