ISRO to Launch Aditya-L1 Spacecraft to Study the Sun on September 2

National Desk, 28th August: The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has announced the upcoming launch of the Aditya-L1 spacecraft, scheduled for September 2 at 11:50 am from the Sriharikota spaceport. This follows the successful completion of the Chandrayaan-3 mission.

The primary objective of the Aditya-L1 spacecraft is to conduct in-situ studies of the solar wind at the Sun-Earth Lagrangian point (L1), located approximately 1.5 million kilometers away from Earth. Additionally, it will facilitate remote observations of the solar corona from this vantage point.

The spacecraft, marking India’s first dedicated space-based solar observatory, will be launched using the PSLV-C57 rocket.

The Aditya-L1 mission will carry seven payloads, designed to investigate various aspects of the Sun, including the photosphere, chromosphere, and the corona, across different wavebands. This mission aims to enhance our understanding of the Sun’s behavior and its impact on space weather.
