‘Its his own loss’: Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi on Milind Deora’s resignation
Guwahati, 14th January: Reacting to Milind Deora’s resignation from the Congress party, Lok Sabha MP and Congress leader Gaurav Gogoi expressed that the party has commenced the ‘Bharat Jodo Nyaya Yatra’ in Manipur, emphasizing that it’s Deora’s loss if he is not present.
Gogoi highlighted the warm reception from the people in Manipur, attributing it to the Congress and INDIA alliance’s dedication to addressing the state’s issues. Speaking on Deora’s absence, Gogoi remarked, “At this time, if Milind Deora ji is not here, then it’s his loss.” Milind Deora officially resigned from the primary membership of the Congress party on January 14.
In a statement on a micro-blogging site, he marked the conclusion of a significant chapter in his political journey, expressing gratitude to leaders, colleagues, and karyakartas for their unwavering support during the 55-year family relationship with the party. Deora’s exit coincides with the launch of the mega rally ‘Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra’ from Manipur’s Thoubal, covering 15 states and 110 districts over 67 days.
