Jammu and Kashmir: Body of jawan abducted by terrorists found with ‘gunshot wounds’ in Anantnag

National Desk, 9th October: In a tragic turn of events, the body of a Territorial Army soldier has been recovered, following his abduction by terrorists in the Anantnag district.

The soldier, who was part of a counter-terrorism operation, was reported missing on October 8.

According to security sources, the soldier was abducted along with another colleague from the Kazwan Forest area during the early hours of October 9.

While one soldier managed to escape with injuries, the other was taken captive.

A massive search operation was immediately launched to locate the missing soldier.

The recovery of the soldier’s body, riddled with gunshot wounds, has sent shockwaves through the region.

This incident comes at a time when tensions are already high, with the day of vote counting for the Jammu district elections coinciding with the abduction.

Anantnag has witnessed several violent clashes in recent months. In August, two soldiers were killed in an encounter with terrorists in the district.

The region has been a hotbed for militant activity, with several attacks, including one in Doda district where five security personnel were killed.

The latest incident serves as a stark reminder of the ongoing threat posed by terrorist groups in the region.

As security forces continue their efforts to combat militancy, the situation in Jammu and Kashmir remains volatile.
