Jammu and Kashmir: One dead, several others injured in grenade attack at Srinagar
Guwahati: One person has died and at least 21 others including a cop were injured in a grenade attack in the Srinagar district of Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday.
The incident took place in the Amira Kadal area of Central Kashmir’s.
As per Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), the attack was aimed at security forces and police officers stationed for duty in the area.
The injured persons were immediately rushed to Shri Maharaja Hari Singh (SMHS) Hospital.
Kanwaljeet Singh, the medical superintendent of the neighbouring SMHS hospital said the hospital has received 21 people with injuries. “One of the injured is in critical condition. We don’t yet know who all of the injured are “he added.
Meanwhile, the police officer had an injury to his foot and was treated in the hospital before being released.
According to police sources, the entire area has been cordoned off, and search operations are ongoing to apprehend the militants.
However, the identification of the injured persons is yet to be ascertained.
