Jammu and Kashmir: Retired Senior Police Officer shot dead by Terrorists While Praying in Baramulla
National, 24th December: In a shocking turn of events, terrorists targeted and killed Mohammad Shafi Mir, a retired Senior Superintendent of Police, as he was offering prayers inside a mosque in Gantamulla Bala area of Baramulla district on Sunday.
The assailants attacked while Mir was engaged in azan (prayers).
The incident has prompted the Jammu and Kashmir police to cordon off the area, initiating a thorough investigation into the tragic case.
In a grim reminder of the escalating security challenges in the region, the recent assassination of retired Senior Superintendent of Police Mohammad Shafi Mir has raised concerns. The attackers struck during Mir’s prayer session at a local mosque in Gantamulla Bala, Baramulla district.
