Guwahati: An army officer along with at least four other soldiers were killed in an encounter between security forces and terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir on Monday.
The incident took place in the Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir.
Following intelligence inputs about the presence of heavily armed militants in a village close to Dera Ki Gali in Surankote, the officials launched an operation in the area.
During the search operation, the hiding terrorists opened fire on the officials, where five soldiers including a Junior Commissioned Officer (JCO) were killed in the battle.
