Jharkhand Education Minister Ramdas Soren Passes Away at 62

National: Jharkhand Education Minister Ramdas Soren, a senior leader of the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM), passed away late Friday night at Apollo Hospital in New Delhi. He was 62.

Soren had been fighting for his life since August 2, when he suffered a severe head injury after slipping in the bathroom at his residence in Jamshedpur. He was subsequently airlifted to Delhi for advanced treatment, where a team of specialists closely monitored his condition. Despite being on life support, his health deteriorated further, leading to his demise.

Chief Minister Hemant Soren confirmed the news on social media, expressing grief over the loss. “The state has lost a committed leader who worked tirelessly for the cause of education and social upliftment,” he wrote.

JMM national spokesperson Kunal Sarangi also released a statement, noting that the minister’s condition had remained critical throughout his treatment. “State Education Minister Ramdas Soren, who was undergoing treatment at a hospital in Delhi, is no more,” he said.

The minister’s passing has left Jharkhand in mourning, with tributes pouring in from political colleagues, party members, and citizens alike. Remembered as a leader devoted to education and social progress, Soren’s death marks a significant loss for the state’s political and social fabric.
