J&K: 4 army men including 2 officers killed, 2 injured in gunfight with terrorists in Rajouri
National Desk, 23rd November: At least four army personnel including two officers lost their lives in the ongoing encounter with militants in the Rajouri area of Jammu and Kashmir, ANI reported.
The deceased comprised two officer-ranked personnel and two jawans.
According to sources, the deployment of troops, including special forces, in the area was deployed by intelligence regarding the movement of a group of terrorists.
Sources stated, “16 Corps Commander and Rashtriya Rifles’ Romeo Force commander are monitoring the operations closely.”
Joint operations were initiated in the Kalakote area of Gulabgarh forest in Rajouri district based on specific intelligence inputs.
The Indian army’s White Knight Corps said, “The terrorists have been injured and surrounded, and operations are in progress.”
They added, “Contact was established on Nov 22, and an intense firefight ensued. The terrorists have been injured and surrounded, with operations in progress. Our bravehearts are demonstrating acts of valor and sacrifice in an effort to prevent collateral damage to women and children, following the highest traditions of the Indian Army.”
