J&K: Srinagar’s Tulip Garden Hosts Peaceful Morning Walk for Union Minister and Chief Minister, Alongside Cultural Celebration

National: A serene morning unfolded at Srinagar’s famed Tulip Garden on April 7th, as Union Minister Kiren Rijiju and Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah embarked on a tranquil walk amidst the garden’s vibrant blooms. The peaceful stroll, set against the backdrop of Asia’s largest tulip expanse, provided a moment of calm and connection between the two political figures.

Following their walk, Minister Rijiju also engaged in a meeting with National Conference President, Dr. Farooq Abdullah. Sharing his experience on social media platform X, Rijiju expressed his delight, noting the “refreshing morning walk amid the vibrant hues of the Tulip Garden in Srinagar, Jammu & Kashmir, with Hon’ble CM Shri @OmarAbdullah ji and also glad to meet Dr Farooq Abdullah sahab.” He further elaborated, “Nature at its finest & conversations filled with warmth & vision, a truly special morning,” capturing the essence of the day’s interactions.

The Tulip Garden, a sprawling 30-hectare site at the foothills of the Zabarwan Range overlooking Dal Lake, has become a significant attraction since its opening in 2007. Its annual Tulip Festival, designed to promote floriculture and tourism in the Kashmir Valley, highlights the garden’s diverse floral displays.

Prior to the morning walk, both Rijiju and Abdullah attended the inauguration of the Lok Sanvardhan Parv in Srinagar. This event, dedicated to celebrating the cultural diversity and artistic heritage of Jammu and Kashmir, also served as a platform to address regional challenges. During his address, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah emphasized the importance of India’s diversity and the collective responsibility of its citizens in contributing to national progress. He articulated, “In our country, there are no people with the same mindset. There are no people who follow a single lifestyle. There are no people who cook or eat the same. There are no people who speak the same language. In the development of this country, all of us have a role to play. And we will all share in this development.”
