Guwahati: At least three terrorists were killed in an encounter with the security forces in the Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday.
According to reports, a joint team of police and security forces launched a search operation at Chandgam in Pulwama on Wednesday morning which turned into an encounter, and in the exchange of firing three terrorists were killed. The terrorists were suspected to be members of Pakistan-based Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM).
Among the killed terrorists one was a Pak national.
Apart from this the security personnel further recovered a large cache of arms of ammunition, including two US-made M4 assault rifles from their possession.
IGP of Kashmir said, “Three JeM terrorists killed in an encounter with security forces in Chandgam, Pulwama. One of them is a Pakistani national. Incriminating materials, arms & ammunition including 2 M-4 carbines & 1 AK series rifle recovered.”
