Joint Operation by Assam Rifles and Arunachal Police Seizes Major Ammunition Cache in South Arunachal
Itanagar: A joint operation led by the Assam Rifles and Arunachal Pradesh police has successfully seized a significant cache of ammunition in Launu village, near Kanubari in South Arunachal Pradesh. The ammunition, believed to be linked to insurgent groups ULFA (I) and NSCN (K-YA), was concealed in the area.
The recovered weapons include 29 rounds of 7.62mm SLR, 200 rounds of 7.62mm AK-47, and 245 rounds of 5.56mm M-16. This successful operation is seen as a crucial step in curbing insurgent activities in the region, which has been a focus for security forces in recent years.
Following the recovery, authorities have launched further investigations to identify the individuals responsible for hiding the weapons. The successful operation underscores the ongoing commitment of the security forces to maintain peace and security in the sensitive border areas of Arunachal Pradesh.
