Guwahati: A couple in Jorhat’s Mariani surrendered before the police confessing that they had killed a person a few days back and had hidden the dead body in a septic tank.
Police officials informed that the couple had killed the person for some personal reasons. The couple was identified as Anil Munda and his wife. Both of them had confessed to the killing.
Based on the confession, the police had initiated an operation, and then on searching the premises of the couple’s residence, the police found the dead body of the person buried in the septic tank. The body of the deceased was wrapped in a polyethene bag.
He was identified as Bibhut Panika of the Sinatali area.
On verifying all the statements and evidence of the couple, the police arrested the couple and forwarded them to judicial custody.
