Journalist attacked in Manipur
Guwahati: A journalist was allegedly attacked by a group of unidentified persons in Thoubal of Manipur on Sunday.
The victim was identified as Elangbam Rameshwar.
According to reports, the victim is a correspondent with Naharolgi Thoudang, a Manipuri daily published from Imphal. He is also the vice-president of the Thoubal District Journalists’ Union.
The persons who were involved in the act are suspected to be Congress workers.
It may be mentioned that the incident took place at his residence in the presence of his family members on 24 October in the morning.
Meanwhile, a complaint was registered with the local police, and an investigation into the matter is also carried out by the police.
However, no arrest has been done yet by the police officials into the case.
