Guwahati: A senior journalist was attacked and injured by some miscreants in Agartala city of Tripura on Sunday night.
The incident occurred in Indranagar area of the city last night.
The journalist has been identified as Tapan Das. He works for the Tripuran daily known as “Sandan Patrika.”
He was brought to the GB Pant hospital in Agartala of Tripura, after the incident harmed him.
Journalists in Tripura have asked that the government and police to take action against the culprits of the attack on Das.
It needs to be mentioned that this is not Tripura’s first case of a journalist being attacked.
Shantanu Bhowmik, a journalist with a local news channel ‘Din Raat’, was killed while covering a political protest in the Mandvi village in Tripura in September, 2017.
Newspapers had carried a blank editorial page to protest the killing of Bhowmik following his murder.
