Guwahati: A huge cache of illegal arms and ammunition were recovered from Karbi Anglong district of Assam on Thursday.
According to reports, in joint search operations conducted by the police, 7th Assam rifles and 5th Assam Rifles Dimapur recovered from a night super in Khatkhati.
Search activities were undertaken in front of the State Bank of India in Khatkhati at around 4:30 pm on Wednesday.
The illicit guns were hidden inside a container of apples and transported in a bus with the registration number NL07B 0385.
There were two factories that produced. A bag kept within the box of apples yielded 32 pistols, two magazines, and two walkie talkies.
According to police sources, the bus was on its way to Nagaland’s Mon district.
However, the owner of the bag has yet to be identified because he or she did not board the bus.
Further investigation into the entire case is currently underway.
