Karenni Armed Group Seizes Seven Bases from Myanmar Junta
International Desk, 14th November: The Karenni Nationalities Defense Force (KNDF) has announced the capture of seven junta positions in eastern Kayah State and southern Shan State following the initiation of Operation 11.11, an anti-regime campaign, on Saturday.
Simultaneous early morning strikes were carried out by three resistance units on junta outposts in Loikaw Township, Nan Mei Khon town in Demoso Township, and Moebye town in Shan State’s Pekon Township, according to the KNDF.
The conflict in Loikaw, the capital of Kayah, intensified on Monday as allied resistance forces strive to seize control of the town, as confirmed by local inhabitants and resistance forces. A KNDF spokesperson verified that the ongoing conflict is particularly prominent in Loikaw town, Kayah State.
In response to the situation, KNDF Chairman Khun Be Du has urged Loikaw residents to temporarily relocate to safer areas, emphasizing the resistance forces’ efforts to establish self-determination and eliminate authoritarian rule in Karenni [Kayah] State. Despite junta air strikes and heavy artillery fire, a considerable number of individuals remain stranded in Loikaw town, reported the Karenni Human Rights Group.
