Karimganj MLA Siddique Ahmed suspended for Violating Party Discipline

Guwahati: Karimganj MLA Siddique Ahmed has been suspended from primary membership of the Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) for breaking party discipline on Thursday.

This was informed by the APCC President Bhupen Borah.

While addressing a press conference, Bhupen Borah said that the Karimganj MLA disregarded the ‘Three Line Whip’ issued by Chief Whip, Assam, Wazed Ali Choudhury in the Rajya Sabha election today.

Borah further claimed that “While casting his ballot, Siddique purposefully wrote ONE instead of 1,”

Meanwhile, he voted for Ripun Bora, a Congress candidate for Rajya Sabha.
