Karnataka HC Orders Directing Twitter To Block Congress

Guwahati: The Karnataka High Court has suspended the lower court’s directive for Twitter to remove Congress accounts.

A Bengaluru court ordered Twitter to suspend Congress accounts and its Bharat Jodo Yatra campaign due to an alleged copyright breach.

The decision requiring Congress to delete any copyrighted content from its official social media sites has been delayed by the Karnataka High Court.

“We thank the honourable court for their wisdom and will comply with the directions of the court,” the Congress party said.

Bangalore-based company MRT Music filed a lawsuit against the Congress alleging that Rahul Gandhi’s appearance in one of the Bharat Jodo Yatra films included music from the movie KGF 2.

In a copyright infringement case involving KGF Chapter-2, the Congress on Tuesday filed a petition with the Karnataka high court challenging a Bengaluru court judgement instructing the microblogging site to remove the Twitter handles of both the Congress and the Bharat Jodo Yatra.
