Kerala: Assam Couple Arrested for Allegedly Murdering Infant Daughter and Dumping Body

National Desk, 12th November: In a shocking incident, live-in partners from Assam, Maksidul Islam, and Mushida Khathoon, were apprehended by Perumbavoor police for the alleged murder of their 19-day-old daughter.

The lifeless body was discovered in a plastic bag near a river at Mudikkal on October 8. Reports suggest that the couple, caught in a live-in relationship, resorted to suffocating the infant, citing their unwillingness to embrace parenthood.

Following the heinous act, they meticulously packed the tiny body in a plastic bag and callously disposed of it near the river. The police’s investigation into pregnant women in the area ultimately led them to the Assam woman, an employee at a plywood factory.

Despite initial challenges in tracing Mushida, who had fled to Assam with Maksidul, the authorities successfully located and arrested the duo. The police reveal that the couple devised the sinister plan to end their child’s life amid discord over the pregnancy.
