Kerala Introduces Iris: The First Generative AI Teacher

National Desk, 6th March: Kerala, known for its strides in education, has introduced Iris, the first generative AI teacher, in a pioneering move. Developed in collaboration with Makerlabs Edutech Private Limited, Iris signifies a significant leap forward in integrating artificial intelligence into the classroom.

Unveiled at KTCT Higher Secondary School in Thiruvananthapuram, Iris is a humanoid designed to elevate the learning journey for students.

Makerlabs showcased Iris’s potential through a video on Instagram, highlighting its capacity to revolutionize education. “With IRIS, we’ve set out to revolutionize education by harnessing the power of AI to create a truly personalized learning experience,” they shared.

A viral video circulating online demonstrates Iris’s interactive capabilities and its role as a versatile teaching aide.

Part of the Atal Tinkering Lab (ATL) initiative initiated by NITI Aayog, Iris boasts features aimed at redefining traditional teaching methods.

Capable of answering complex queries and proficient in three languages, Iris offers each student a tailored learning journey. Its mobility, voice assistance, interactive modules, and manipulation capabilities make it an invaluable asset in the classroom.
