Khalistani Aide Wanted in India Killed in Canada Amid Diplomatic Tensions
International Desk, 21st September: In a development amid escalating diplomatic tensions between India and Canada, an associate of Khalistani terrorist Arshdeep Singh, Sukhdool Singh, was reportedly killed in Canada’s Winnipeg city.
Sukhdool Singh, wanted in India, is believed to have been killed as a result of an inter-gang rivalry. He had earlier fled his hometown in Punjab to Canada and obtained a passport and police clearance certificate on forged documents in 2017, despite having multiple criminal cases registered against him.
This incident follows the killing of another Khalistani terrorist, Hardeep Singh Nijjar, in Surrey, British Columbia, which had strained relations between India and Canada. Nijjar, who was the chief of the Khalistan Tiger Force (KTF), was gunned down outside a gurdwara in June.
The diplomatic stand-off intensified when Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau made allegations of links between the Indian government and Nijjar, whom he referred to as a “Canadian citizen.” India rejected these allegations as “absurd” and “motivated,” leading to the expulsion of a senior Canadian diplomat by India in response to Canada’s earlier expulsion of an Indian official over the matter.
