Kharge To Take Charge as Cong Prez On Oct 26

Guwahati: Mallikarjun Kharge, the newly elected President of the Indian National Congress, will assume office on October 26 at the headquarters of the All India Congress Committee (AICC).

All Congress Working Committee members, MPs, Pradesh Congress Committee presidents, CLP leaders, former CMs, former State presidents and other AICC office bearers are invited to the programme.

The organization’s general secretary, KC Venugopal, has sent invitations to all of the aforementioned stakeholders.

Congress is anticipated to resolve the Rajasthan Congress crisis following Kharge’s appointment, the reports added.

Kharge will also soon travel to Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh, two states that are awaiting elections.

Congress will simultaneously demonstrate its power in the elections in Gujarat and Himachal after October 30. Congresswoman Priyanka Gandhi Vadra will conduct four rallies and four road shows in Himachal between October 31 and November 10. Priyanka purposefully chose October 31 since that was the day that former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi was killed.

According to Priyanka, if Indira Gandhi had not been assassinated, her retirement ambition would have been to build a home in Himachal.

Vadra will hold rallies and roadshows in Mandi and Kullu on October 31; Kangra and Chamba on November 3; Hamirpur and Una on November 7 and Shimla and Sirmona on November 10.

On the other hand, Rahul Gandhi will leave the Bharat Jodo Yatra’s location for the first time on the day it ends to speak at a sizable rally in Himachal during the first week of November to help the party’s campaign.

Similar to this, Priyanka and Rahul’s programmes in Gujarat are being finalised after October 30. While taking a break from the Bharat Jodo Yatra, Rahul may not have travelled to Delhi or elsewhere, but he will visit the poll states to campaign. Road shows, protests, and conferences like Mahila-Farmer-Dalit of both politicians are being planned for Gujarat.

That is to say, the Congress is getting ready to make a strong effort in the election season in both states as soon as the festival week of Diwali concludes. The Congress appears to be falling behind in the campaign of the central leadership of the BJP and AAP in Himachal and particularly in Gujarat.
