Kiren Rijiju Leads Haj Walkathon 2025, Emphasizes Fitness for Pilgrims
New Delhi — Union Minister for Minority Affairs and Parliamentary Affairs, Kiren Rijiju, participated as the chief guest at the Haj Walkathon 2025, held at the Nawab Mansur Ali Khan Pataudi Sports Complex, Jamia Millia Islamia. Organised by the Delhi State Haj Committee, the event underscored the importance of physical fitness for pilgrims preparing for the rigorous Haj pilgrimage.
Addressing participants, Rijiju stressed the necessity of physical readiness, highlighting the extreme heat conditions in Makkah and Madinah. He commended the Delhi Haj Committee, under the leadership of Chairperson Kausar Jahan, for its proactive approach in prioritizing the well-being of pilgrims. “Ensuring that pilgrims are physically prepared is crucial for their ability to complete the pilgrimage safely,” he noted.
Sharing his experience on social media, Rijiju walked alongside participants and reiterated the importance of fitness in enduring the physically demanding conditions of Haj. The initiative aligns with broader efforts to equip pilgrims with the necessary preparation for their spiritual journey, reinforcing the significance of health and endurance in religious obligations.
