Guwahati, July 26, 2024: Kutumba Surakshya Parishad, a prominent nationalist organization based in Assam, is set to organize the third edition of its flagship event, Xutradhar, in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh, from September 20 to 22, 2024. This three-day event aims to promote national integrity and social harmony through a blend of academic and cultural activities inspired by the works of Mahapurush Srimanta Sankardeva.

Following successful events in Vrindavan and Ujjain, Xutradhar-2024 will feature a National Academic Conference on “Mahapurush Srimanta Sankardeva – the Pioneer of Cultural Nationalism,” along with 18 sub-themes. The conference will see collaboration from several prestigious universities, including Assam Women’s University, Kumar Bhaskarverma University of Sanskrit and Ancient Studies, and Panjab University, among others.

Prof. Kameswar Shukla from Gauhati University will coordinate the academic conference, with support from Dr. Mahashweta Devi of Assam Women’s University, Prof. Yojna Rawat of Panjab University, Dr. Shalini Singh of Avodh University, and Sri Devanshi Adhikari of Gauhati University. Selected research papers will be compiled into two separate publications, alongside two magazines in Hindi and English, edited by Sri Bivek Kumar Mishra and Sri Jyotirmoy Sarma.

In addition to the academic proceedings, Xutradhar-2024 will feature an array of cultural performances, including Satriya Dance, Borgeet, and three plays by Mahapurush Srimanta Sankardeva: “Ram-Bijoy,” “Rukmini-Haran,” and “Daksha-Yajnya (Sati).” The event will also showcase performances of Dihanaam and Thionaam by 150 women under the guidance of Sri Amiya Neog Kalita, a recognized folk artist and devotional song guru.

Approximately 300 young cultural activists from Assam will participate in these cultural programs, bringing the rich traditions of Assam to Ayodhya.

President of Kutumba Surakshya Parishad, Sri Satya Ranjan Borah, announced these details at a press conference held at the Guwahati Press Club, expressing enthusiasm for the event’s potential to strengthen cultural ties and promote national unity.
