Labourer’s Death Sparks Outrage in Assam’s Baksa District
Assam: The mysterious death of a carpenter, Bhavesh Kalita, has sent shockwaves through Assam’s Baksa district. The incident took place around 3 PM in the Saraimari area under the Musalpur police station, where Kalita, a resident of Garamdeo, was working at the residence of Lavanya Das.
According to the victim’s family, a dispute allegedly linked to a liquor racket escalated into violence, with Kalita reportedly assaulted by Lavanya Das and Kishore Das. The family claims the assault directly led to his untimely death. Acting swiftly on their complaint, Musalpur police have arrested the accused duo.
Kalita’s body has been sent to Dr. Ravi Boro Civil Hospital in Musalpur for a post-mortem examination to determine the exact cause of death. The incident has sparked widespread concern among locals, who are questioning the safety measures and effectiveness of law enforcement in the area.
