Lady Constable Arrested in Connection with Death of Three-Time Mr. Arunachal Nishu Konia
Northeast Desk, 23rd May: A 37-year-old lady constable has been arrested by the Balijan police in connection with the mysterious death of Nishu Konia, a three-time Mr. Arunachal. Konia was found dead around 6 am in the Upper Hollongi area, a well-known no-network zone.
The incident falls under the jurisdiction of Balijan Police Station in the Papum Pare district. Authorities have registered a case and launched an investigation to determine the cause of his death. Preliminary examinations revealed that Konia’s body sustained severe head injuries, according to police sources.
Konia, originally from Daporijo in the Upper Subansiri district, was on deputation for the Special Investigation Team (SIT) of the state police at the time of his death.
Radhe Obing, the Balijan sub-divisional police officer, confirmed the arrest of the lady constable, stating that she was with Konia on the night before the incident occurred. The suspect is currently under police custody. Reports indicate that the suspect, along with her friends, discovered Konia’s body around 3 am in Upper Hollongi and subsequently informed the police.
The investigation is ongoing as authorities work to uncover the circumstances surrounding Konia’s death.
