Land Dispute Erupts in Arunachal’s Kamle; Three Injured in Clan Clash
KAMLE: A long-standing land dispute between two clans in Arunachal Pradesh’s Kamle district boiled over into a violent confrontation on Tuesday, leaving three people with serious injuries. The clash, which occurred in the Poku area, involved members of the Milli and Yukar clans, escalating tensions and prompting a swift response from local authorities.
According to a situation report from the Officer-in-Charge of Raga Police Station, the altercation is a direct result of an ongoing land dispute that has simmered between the rival groups for an extended period. The incident has raised serious concerns among officials about the potential for further violence and unrest in the region.
In a proactive move to de-escalate the situation and prevent any future clashes, the district administration has issued a stern directive. All individuals holding licensed firearms from both the Milli and Yukar clans have been instructed to deposit their weapons at the Raga Police Station or any nearby police outpost by the end of Wednesday, August 27, 2025. Authorities have also issued a stark warning that failure to comply with this order will lead to the immediate and automatic cancellation of their arms licenses. To ensure peace and order are maintained, security has been beefed up in the area, with additional personnel deployed to avert any further untoward incidents.
