Land Ports to Get Tech Upgrade: LPAI Chairman Promises Seamless Passenger Movement

In a significant stride towards modernizing India’s land border infrastructure, the Land Port Authority of India (LPAI) Chairman, Aditya Mishra, has announced plans to connect all 15 land ports across the country with advanced software solutions like Digi Yatra and Yatri Suvidha Portals.

Mishra made this announcement during the launch of the Land Port Management System (LPMS) at the Land Port Agartala. The LPMS is designed to streamline operations and provide real-time visibility into port activities, including cargo and passenger movements.

“The LPMS will revolutionize the way land ports function,” Mishra said. “By integrating multiple databases, it will enable efficient monitoring and control of various processes, from truck entry and driver verification to parking allocation and security checks.”

Mishra also highlighted the importance of passenger facilitation. “We are working towards implementing passenger-friendly software solutions like Digi Yatra at all land ports,” he said. “This will significantly enhance the travel experience for passengers and reduce waiting times.”

With the implementation of these advanced technologies, LPAI aims to transform India’s land ports into efficient and passenger-friendly gateways, boosting trade and commerce while ensuring smooth cross-border movement.
