Landslides Block Pangin to Aalo Road in Arunachal Pradesh

Northeast Desk, 4th July: The Pangin to Aalo road in Arunachal Pradesh faced a blockade during the night of July 3 due to heavy rainfall and subsequent landslides. This incident has caused significant inconvenience to commuters, who are stranded due to disrupted travel routes.

Authorities were swiftly informed about the blockade, prompting immediate action to initiate restoration work on the affected road. Efforts are currently underway to clear debris and restore normal traffic flow.

Earlier on July 3, authorities in Arunachal Pradesh issued advisories to residents of Donyi Dokum Colony, warning them against using the road from Ganga Jullang Road to Donyi Dokum Colony. The road is at risk of collapsing and being washed away due to continuous heavy rainfall. Residents were advised to utilize the alternate route via Bread Factory CC Road to ensure safety and prevent potential risks to life and property.

The Executive Engineer of PWD, CD-B, has been directed to install banners at the entry points of the affected road and take necessary measures to expedite restoration efforts.

The situation remains monitored closely as authorities continue their efforts to mitigate the impact of the landslides and ensure safe travel for commuters in the region.
