Lat Mandal Arrested in Assam’s Lakhimpur District for Graft

Guwahati, 20th September: In another case of corruption, a Lat Mandal in Assam’s Lakhimpur district has been arrested on graft charges for demanding money.

The accused, identified as Hemendra Bora and posted in Tinikunia under Lakhimpur district, allegedly demanded Rs. 1 lakh for processing the namjari (land mutation) of an applicant.

Initially, Bora accepted 50 percent of the demanded money through UPI. Subsequently, when he was on his way to collect the remaining 50 percent, the police arrested him on charges of bribery.
