While addressing a press conference, CM stated after a discussion with the Office in charge of all police stations regarding the state of law and order.

“I enquired of Director General of Police Amitabh Ranjan because I intended to speak with the Officer in charge of every police station. There are 83 police stations total, including one for women. District Superintendents, DIGs, and IGs were all present, along with all other OCs. There were also members of the traffic police present. We had a thorough discussion about the state, including the state of law and order “he said.

The CM added that he had spoken about the current law and order situation and heard about the difficulties that police were having while performing their duties.

“There are numerous claims coming from various directions that the state of law and order in Tripura is not good. Particularly opposing political parties frequently assert that the state’s law and order has deteriorated. I had a meeting today with the OC level and a few days ago with senior police authorities. I can now state that, as a result of the meeting, every area of law and order has improved since 2018 “the CM said.

Giving statistics on the crime rate, the CM stated that there was a 15% decrease in murder cases, a 10% decrease in dowry deaths, a 10% decline in rape, a 35% decrease in molestation, a 60% decrease in eve teasing, and a 30% decrease in crime against women.

“The situation is being kept in line with law and order by the police. 109 helplines have been established. After considering all factors, I can confidently state that the law-and-order situation is excellent. I have thus instructed all police officers to work to uphold the law and order “he stated.
